Wilderness First Aid training with OSU

Sometimes things go sideways when you're riding with student-athletes, and having WFA training can make a huge difference in your preparedness to take action. We know WFA classes have been tough to take during this past year, but have discovered a great and affordable opportunity for coaches (and student-athletes)!

This training will focus on the basic skills of response and assessment, musculoskeletal injuries, environmental emergencies, survival skills, soft tissue injuries, and medical emergencies. This class is tailored for NICA so most of the scenarios will be related to biking accidents.

There are two classes offered. Both classes are a full weekend with meeting times approximately 8am-4pm each day. If interested, choose one of the options below to register.

February 27-28
March 6-7

Here's the catch: All WFA training is hands-on, up-close practice which cannot be social distanced. Each participant must bring a "covid-safe buddy" from their household on which to practice the skills. If the buddy is at least 14 years old- they can also receive WFA certification for a fee. Students younger can still be a training buddy without official certification.

The cost is $200 to register and $75 for your buddy, meaning you and a friend/family member can both get certified for $275 total. That's at least half off of other WFA classes!

Big big thanks to Corvallis Composite for setting these up!!
