GRiT @ Race 2: Fair Hill Frenzy

The MICL GRiT Committee is excited to continue the activities for the 2019 race season. We have created a variety of activities and challenges that students can participate in throughout the race weekend.

The GRiT mission is to build and nurture a community of female riders. All riders are encouraged to invite friends to attend any GRiT event. We have loaner bikes and helmets for anyone who wishes to try it out!

For pre-ride student athletes attend, they will earn a raffle ticket. At the final race of the season, raffles will be drawn and prizes awarded!

Come join us at the GRiT tent this race season! We have short shifts available on Sunday and would love for some help. Many hands mike light work.

Event Timeline

Saturday, September 28

1:30 - Check-In
Come to the GRiT Tent and check in for the GRiT pre-ride. Don't forget to fill out your raffle ticket! Each pre-ride earns you a raffle ticket for sweet end of season prizes.

1:45 - Pre-Ride Line Up and Bike Check
Once you have checked in at the GRiT tent, grab your bike, helmet, and water and meet behind the GRiT Tent.

2:00 - 3:00 - GRiT Pre-Ride
Preview the course with other female MICL riders. Riders are encouraged to bring a friend to try it out!

All riders must have a race plate on their bike to pre-ride!

We will be leaving promptly at 2:00!

3:30 - 4:30 - Post Ride Activity
Come back over to the GRiT tent after pre-ride where you can choose to participate in one of two activities.

Option 1 (on the bike): Take your skills to the next level with an on the bike skills clinic with the amazing Diana Allen.

Option 2 (no bike): Find out more about people in the league through a scavenger hunt bingo game. Compete as a group or as individuals!

Sunday, September 29

11:00 - 12:00 - Italian Soda Bar
Come over to the GRiT tent and let our GRiT baristas make you a custom Italian Soda. Never had one before? Even more reason to come and check out this sweet treat. Better yet, order one for yourself and one for a friend!

12:15 -1:30 - Fancy Fingernails
Your race is over so you should treat yourself. We will have a variety of fun colors as well as nail stickers! Ladies of all ages are welcome to join in on the fun.

What's in Your Closet?

We would love to host a clothing swap at the final race of the season. If you have any gently used bike appropriate clothing that you no longer wear or is too big or too small, we would love to have it!

Additionally, if you have any of the following in your house that you would like to donate to our cause, we would greatly appreciate it.

Fingernail polish
Beads
Embroidery floss
Safety pins
Fun fabric scraps
Buttons
